White Horse Plastics is a UK based injection moulding company specialising in the manufacture of components for the medical, consumer and engineering sectors.  Our services cover all aspects of production, including DFM, project management, assembly & packaging

Our legacy lies in the automotive sector, where we have been a trusted supplier for over 40 years.  More recently, we have expanded into the medical sector and since attaining ISO 13485, have been producing millions of medical components a year at our premises in South Oxfordshire

The Optimum Process

Each process is trialled and optimised prior to production. This allows us to establish the most suitable running conditions for long-term manufacturing

Our approach to this has proven to extend the lifetime of tooling, saving on refurbishment or replacement costs compared to other suppliers

The Optimum Material

Wherever a material is specified by a customer, the request will be followed to the requirements

However, our vast experience and knowledge of a range of materials, including biopolymers, means we can also recommend alternatives which may improve the product or provide a cost saving on the unit price

A History of WHP

We’ve come a long way since we were founded by Rod Houghton in 1973. Follow our history though the years:

White Horse Plastics is founded in Oxfordshire by Rod Houghton & Partners
1973
A new business plan marks a shift to provide technical injection moulding services
1992
The company moves to Stanford-in-the-Vale, allowing scope for expansion
1993
An in-house tooling facility is established. Quality Standard ISO 9002 is achieved
1996
WHP achieve the Environmental Management Standard ISO14001:1996
2002
WHP achieve the Automotive Management Standard TS16949:2002
2003
Manufacturing capacity is increased with construction of a third building
2006
A white room moulding facility & Medical Standard ISO 13485 is achieved
2016
Rod Houghton retires and the management team buy out the business
2018
A new business plan sets the objective to increase the tight tolerance medical portfolio
2019
Covid-19 pandemic impacts automotive output but see new demand in other sectors
2020
A dedicated assembly facility is established with WHP expansion to fourth building
2022
WHP begin collaboration with leading sustainable packaging start-up
2023
A focus on sustainable and responsible manufacturing projects are launched
