Sustainable Solutions
The range of Bio-polymers and alternatives to transitional polymers is steadily growing. Over the past year we have assisted in the development of a number of university-derived innovations using these alternatives across a range of applications
Our internal objective has always been to find solutions and solve problems, and we see the use of these eco-friendlier materials as being a viable solution to a number of product applications
Our sustainable manufacturing output for projects using various bio-polymers or recycled material is increasing each year, with new and existing projects taking advantage of our expertise in this area
Environmental Impact
It’s no surprise every component we produce uses material – and this material uses electricity as part of the moulding process. We proactively aim for minimal waste during production, but for waste that is unavoidable such as sprues and start-up scrap, we have established a partnership with our material supplier so all Nylon-specific waste is regrind onsite and returned for re-processing into new material
Another internal regrind process we have in place is for our medical waste PP (Polypropylene). We are able to reuse this internally on selected non-medical products and as such means we can effectively reduce waste from our medical production to zero percent
In addition to our material management, we are actively monitoring and pursuing replacement equipment which is often able to reduce energy consumption by over 50%. You can read more on our recent plant equipment analysis on our news page

We’ve recently completed an onshoring project of over 15 tools, and our unit cost was typically comparable or lower than the overseas supplier – with the added reassurance of our quality controls and easier fulfilment processing.
